Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has survived yet another assassination attempt after police apprehended a Russian death squad sent by Vladimir Putin.
The gang of 25 highly-trained killers, who had set out to kill Zelensky and infiltrate elements of the Ukrainian government, were caught by officers in Uzhgorod near the Slovakian border.
According to reports from Ukrainian counterintelligence, the group was organised by a member of the Russian secret service as Putin ramps up efforts to take out Ukraine's heroic leader.
Ukrainian news site Unian stated that the assassins were only captured after an anti-war faction within the Russian secret service informed Zelenskyy's team of the squad's location, the Daily Star reports.

The other targets reportedly on the group's list included Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak.
Of course, surviving assassination attempts isn't anything new for President Zelenskyy as since the war began on February 24 he's allegedly survived more than a dozen of them.

Earlier this month, Zeleskyy's head of office Mikhail Podolyak stated that the president and his family have been the subject of over 12 assassination attempts.
However, on each occasion, their wannabe killers were "liquidated" thanks to the efforts of a "very powerful network of intelligence and counterintelligence."
Speaking to Pravda, he said: "Our foreign partners are talking about two or three attempts. I believe that there were more than a dozen such attempts."
Of these attempts, two of which are thought to have been orchestrated by the infamous Wagner Group - a team of cutthroat mercenaries that have infiltrated Kyiv.
After their deployment in Ukraine, each member of the 400 man hit squad was given a list of 24 names.
Along with President Zelenskyy, the list is thought to include the prime minister, the cabinet, the mayor of Kyiv, former boxing champion Vitali Klitschko and his brother Wladimir.
According to The Times, since the group infiltrated Kyiv they have attempted to assassinate President Zelensky two times but have been foiled by his security team - who were tipped off by anti-war elements within Russia’s Federal Security Service.
In both unsuccessful attempts, the group has sustained losses with a source telling the newspaper it was “eerie” how prepared Zelenskyy’s security team appeared to be.
