During remarks on Capitol Hill, former President Donald Trump reflected on how a past assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, had a profound impact on his faith. Trump expressed that the incident had strengthened his belief in God, stating, 'It changed something in me. I believed in God, but I feel much more strongly about it. Something happened.'
Trump also discussed a recent tragic midair collision between a commercial plane and a Black Hawk helicopter that resulted in the loss of 67 lives. He drew attention to the rarity of such an event, likening it to the improbability of two golf balls colliding. Trump remarked on the need for improved equipment and staffing to prevent such tragedies, emphasizing the need for proper control in aviation.

Furthermore, the former president touched on his proposal for a National Garden of American Heroes, a project he introduced in July 2020 at Mount Rushmore. The outdoor sculpture park aimed to honor prominent figures in American history. However, the garden did not receive funding from Congress before Trump's term ended, and President Joe Biden later revoked the executive order in 2021.
