President Trump gets in on #WeWantToPlay movement in support of 2020 college football season

The news cycle for college football has been dizzying over the last 48 hours or so. From all the news, rumors, and sourced reports about the college football season being on the verge of being shelved for the fall, it’s keeping us all on our toes.

Since Saturday, we’ve seen a push to play the 2020 college football season in the fall from current players, coaches, media members, and more. And now, it has gotten the attention of most senior person in the country, the President of the United States.

Yes, you hear it right. Even with a pandemic still gripping the nation, a social justice movement occurring, and with an election right around the corner, Donald Trump took time out to tweet support for the college football season being played.

Trump quote tweeted the #WeWantToPlay graphic shared by Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence throwing his support behind it all.

He then followed that retweet up shortly thereafter.

It’s unlikely of course that the so-called leader of the free world will get behind this from a legislative standpoint, but this just goes to show you how visible what’s going on with college football is.

Then again, might an executive order be in play here (tongue and cheek)?
