DALLAS _ Rookie Dak Prescott threw a 5-yard touchdown to Jason Witten in overtime as the Dallas Cowboys clipped the Philadelphia Eagles 29-23 in an NFC East thriller Sunday night at AT&T Stadium.
Regulation ended at 23-23.
The Cowboys won the toss and drove 75 yards in 12 plays for the game-winning score. The key play on the drive was a fourth-and-1 play at the Eagles' 28. Prescott got the first down on a push up the middle.
Six plays later, Prescott threw the game-winning touchdown to Witten.
Dallas, who have won six consecutive games, improves to 6-1. The Cowboys play at Cleveland next week.
The Eagles fall to 4-3.
Philadelphia got on the board first with Caleb Sturgis' 30-yard field goal. The 50-yard scoring drive was aided by a fourth-and-4 penalty against Dallas for 12 men on the field. Six plays later, Sturgis gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead at the 6:39 mark.
It took the Cowboys only five plays to cover 75 yards for a touchdown. The big play was a 53-yard catch by Dez Bryant. Three plays later, Dak Prescott scored untouched on a 7-yard run to give the Cowboys a 7-3 lead at the 4:41 mark.
On the second play of the second quarter, Dan Bailey made a 38-yard field goal to push the Cowboys' lead to 10-3. The field goal ended a 52-yard, eight play drive.
After an exchange of punts, the Eagles tied the game on a 1-yard run by Ryan Mathews. The drive covered 45 yards in nine plays. The key play was a holding call on Cowboys defensive back Byron Jones on a third-and-5 play at the Dallas 8. Two plays later, Mathews scored to tie the game at the 3:41 mark.
Dallas moved to the Eagles' 7, but Prescott was intercepted by Jordan Hicks in the end zone. It was Prescott's second interception of the season.
The Eagles moved to the Cowboys' 37 with 1 second left. Sturgis' first 55-yard attempt was good as time expired, but the Cowboys called timeout before the kick. His second try was also good to give the Eagles a 13-10 halftime lead.
Philadelphia scored on a 12-play drive with rookie Carson Wentz throwing a 5-yard touchdown to Jordan Matthews to give the Eagles' a 20-10 lead at the 6:20 mark. The drive took 4 minutes, 10 seconds.
The Cowboys found a spark on their next possession on a fourth-down fake by Chris Jones when the punter ran 30 yards for a first down.
Eight plays later, Bailey made a 23-yard field goal to close the gap to 20-13.
Four plays into the final quarter Sturgis' 34-yard field gave extended the Eagles' lead to 23-13.
Dallas got a break 2 minutes later when Wendell Smallwood fumbled and Tyrone Crawford recovered at the Eagles 36.
Bailey's 49-yard field goal made it 23-16 with 11:34 left to play.
Dallas forced a punt and then Ezekiel Elliott broke free for a 63-yard gain to the Eagles' 15, but a holding call on Travis Frederick wiped out the run.
The Cowboys still scored on the drive on a 22-yard pass from Prescott to Bryant to tie the game at 23 with 3:04 left.
Each team got one more possession, but neither threatened to score before the end of regulation.
Dallas won the toss in overtime and drove to the game-winning touchdown.
