Premio Lo Nuestro 2024: Your Complete Guide to the Nominees, Performances, and Where to Watch

MIAMI—In the heart of downtown Miami, a sense of excitement and anticipation fills the air as the city prepares for the much-awaited Premio Lo Nuestro 2024 at the Kaseya Center. Behind the scenes, performers are deep in rehearsals, fine-tuning their acts to ensure a spectacular show, while teams on the ground add the final touches to the venue, transforming it into a grand stage befitting Latin music's biggest night.

Outside, the iconic red carpet is already meticulously laid out, set to welcome the region's brightest stars on Thursday, February 22.

As for the awards themselves, Colombian pop star Maluma leads the nominations with 14 nods. He is followed by Regional Mexican artists Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera, who have 13 and 10 nominations, respectively. Urban stars Karol G and Feid are also prominent in the nominations list, each with nine nods.

The event encompasses a wide range of genres within Latin music, with this year's edition featuring 180 nominees across 38 different categories. The nominations are based on UFORIA radio airplay, streaming data and evaluations by music and entertainment experts.

Musical icons at Premio Lo Nuestro

Legendary singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner will join to perform his iconic hit "Tan Enamorados," marking the 35th anniversary of his performance of the same song at the 1989 edition of PLN. Montaner is a Premio lo Nuestro winner, and this year he has has a nomination in the category Song of the Year (Pop/Ballad) with the song "Yo No Fumo."

Charismatic singer-songwriter and pop icon Chayanne, who has consolidated his musical career with more than 50 million albums sold, will perform his hit song "Bailando Bachata" for the first time on television. The Puerto Rican singer has won three Premio Lo Nuestro, Premio Jóvenes Valores 2001, and Premio A La Excelencia 2010. This year he is competing for the Song of the Year (pop) and Song of the Year (tropical) awards.

Pepe Aguilar, considered one of the top figures in ranchera music and a winner of the 12 Premio Lo Nuestro and the 2012 Premio A La Excelencia, will for the first time perform his latest release titled "Hasta Que Me Duermo," an interesting musical fusion that combines rock and mariachi. Aguilar is nominated this year for Male Artist of the Year—Mexican Music. Collaboration of the Year: Mexican Music and Norteño Song of the Year.

Special duets on stage

Award-winning country music singer and songwriter Kane Brown will make history with his first-ever Premio Lo Nuestro performance alongside Carin León, who will present the worldwide release of "The One (Pero No Como Yo)". León has won two Premio Lo Nuestro awards, and this year he has eight nominations.

Camilo and Evaluna Montaner will also present their new song "PLIS" to Latino audiences in the U.S.

Ángela Aguilar, on her end, will for the first time be performing on TV with Yuridia with their song "Qué Agonía." Aguilar has previously received two Lo Nuestro Awards, and this year she is nominated for Female Artist of the Year—Mexican Music, Collaboration of the Year—Mexican Music, and Mariachi/Ranchera Song of the Year.

Latin Urban Power

The most nominated star of the night, Maluma, who currently holds eight PLN awards in addition to the Global Idol recognition he received in 2022, competes in 14 categories, including: Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Crossover Collaboration of the Year, and Premio Lo Nuestro Artist of the Year.

Six-time PLN winner Natti Natasha will also be on stage with the highly anticipated world premiere of her latest single. The Dominican singer and entrepreneur is nominated in three categories: Female Artist of the Year (Urban), Song of the Year (Pop), and Song of the Year (Pop-Urban).

Legendary urban artist Wisin, winner of 20 Premio Lo Nuestro and nominated for three awards - Song of the Year (Urban), Collaboration of the Year (Urban), and Collaboration of the Year (Pop-Urban)- joins Yandel, winner of 14 PLN Awards and nominated for six awards, including Song of the Year, Male Artist of the Year (Urban), and Album of the Year (Urban), in an unforgettable performance.

Urban star Arcángel will also be on the PLN stage for the first time, performing his hit "ALV" with Grupo Frontera.

Multi-platinum rapper and singer-songwriter Eladio Carrión will step on the stage of PLN for the first time to perform the television premieres of "La Canción Feliz del Disco" and "Bendecido." He is nominated in four categories, including: Song of the Year, Male Artist of the Year (Urban), and Album of the Year (Urban).

Argentine songwriter, singer, and dancer, Emilia promised a surprise performance. She is nominated for Female Pop Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year (Pop-Urban,) and Song of the Year (Pop-Urban.)

Spanish artist Bad Gyal will perform with Anitta the Brazilian funk "Bota Niña."

Regional Mexicano at Premio Lo Nuestro 2024

Lovers of regional Mexican music will be able to enjoy one of the most influential groups of this genre, Banda MS. The Sinaloans have five PLN Awards, and this year they are nominated in five categories, including Song of the Year, Collaboration of the Year (Mexican Music), and Song of the Year (Banda.)

Grupo Frontera, who are currently conquering the world with sounds that are modernizing norteño and cumbia, have announced they will be at the Kaseya Center, not only because they are one of the top nominees of the night with 10 nominations, but also because they will surprise the public with the television premiere of one of their songs.

Hosts and where to watch PLN

Galilea Montijo, Angélica Vale, and Clarissa Molina will host the 2024 Premio Lo Nuestro from Miami.

The preshow 'Noche de Estrellas' will mark the first appearance of more than 10 years of Adamari López as part of the cast of a TV show on Univision. She will be joined by Chiquinquirá Delgado, Karina Banda, Jomari Goyso and Raúl de Molina, who will interview the arriving celebrities.

Premio Lo Nuestro will be broadcast live on Univision, Galavision, starting at 7P/6C with the Noche de Estrellas special.The ceremony will begin at 8P/7C
