Rugby bosses will meet on Monday morning to discuss the short term future of the game amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Premiership and European games are set to be suspended after the meeting for what could be at least a month after Pro14 and Top14 fixtures were suspended last week.
Bristol Bears could miss Premiership games against Saracens, Glocuester and Exeter Chiefs and their European Challenge Cup quarter final against Dragons at the beginning of April if the league and European cup was suspended.
The Guardian and the Daily Mail are both reporting that the suspension will be announced imminently after Monday morning's meeting, but some are suggesting that a 10-12 week break may be the better option.
Players are thought to have reported for training as normal on Sunday ahead of the decision this morning and it is thought that clubs will decide whether they should continue training if the league suspended, according to the reports.
The Premiership has nine round left, plus the semi-finals and final for the clubs to finish in the top four with the European Challenge Cup and Heineken Champions Cup having 14 games over three weeks left to play.

The Mail are reporting that one club source suggested that teams would lose around £500,000 per match if games were to be played behind closed doors, which teams don't see as a viable option.
In a statement issued before the weekend, Premiership Rugby said it was the working closely with various bodies as the coronavirus pandemic worsens.
The statement said: "The welfare of our fans, players and staff is our first concern, and we are working in close contact with DCMS, Public Health England and World Health Organisation; following all the experts’ advice.
"Based on this advice, and in consultation with the teams, we have decided to run the Premiership Rugby Cup this Sunday at the AJ Bell Stadium, as planned.
"We will continue to work closely with government on a schedule for the remainder of the season, should the guidance on sporting events change.
"We will keep updating our plans with new information as it is released, and ensure our clubs and fans are updated with developments as soon as they happen."
Bristol currently sit in third in the league, two points off second place Sale. Their next fixture is due to be against Saracens at Ashton Gate and an official decision on this is due soon.
