Premiership clubs have reportedly been canvassed on how to resolve the season in the event of another Covid shutdown.
Scottish football became entangled in a bitter civil war back in March as the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic forced the game into an indefinite pause.
But now, as nationwide restrictions tighten and positive coronavirus tests within football increase, there are concerns of more chaos should the season be halted.
The Daily Mail report SPFL chief Neil Doncaster and SFA vice-president Mike Mulraney held a virtual meeting with top-flight clubs on Friday.
On the agenda was how to proceed if play cannot continue in the coming months.
In July, clubs rejected a proposal which would allow the SPFL complete power to decide the fate of the campaign.
It's reported a second, similar resolution is now under consideration, as set is a set of pre-determined options based on number of fixtures played.
The first shutdown sparked months of in-fighting and the decision to relegate Hearts, Partick Thistle and Stranraer led the former two clubs taking the SPFL to court.
Celtic, Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers were also awarded league titles following a controversial 42-club vote.
