Premiership footballers continue fight against racism in powerful video calling for education

Scottish Premiership footballers have teamed up to challenge racism in a powerful video posted by PFA Scotland.

Players from all 12 clubs produced the video which calls for more education and slams the intolerance of those who continue to be racist.

That included Celtic star Christopher Jullien, Livingston's Marvin Bartley, St Johnstone midfielder Liam Craig and Rangers teen Nathan Patterson.

The brilliant video calls for more education and urges people to be anti-racist instead of just not racist.

In the video, the players say: "When I hold the card, I’m standing with my family.

"When I hold the card, I’m standing with my team-mates

"When I hold the card, I’m standing with my neighbours.

"When I hold the card, I’m standing with my brothers and sisters.

"We’re standing with everyone who has had to endure racial prejudice in their lives.

"Racism comes in many forms. Some clear, some more subtle.

"It effects not just the victims, but friends, families and entire communities.

"No one is born with it. Intolerance is taught, but it can be untaught.

"To bring about change, we can’t be afraid to take the first step. We fail when we fail to try,

"We are supporting Show Racism the Red Card, our education charity.

"Now more than ever, they need your support to give our future generations the tools to challenge hate, prejudice and discrimination.

"It’s not enough to be not racist, we all must be anti-racist. Education is the key."

Premiership players will all take the knee prior to their games over the weekend as they continue to fight for equality and the Black Lives Matter movement.
