Premiership fan return confirmed as Ross County given permission to host supporters for Livingston clash

Ross County have been granted permission to allow 300 fans into the Global Energy Stadium for Friday's clash with Livingston.

As exclusively revealed by Record Sport , Scotland's move to a five-tier lockdown system opened up the possibility of small crowds being allowed into stadiums in tier one areas.

We told how Aberdeen and Ross County would be the first teams to be allowed fans in their stadiums.

The Granite City has now been placed into tier 2 but the SPFL and SFA joint response group has confirmed that 300 supporters will be allowed to attend Friday's game in Dingwall after permission was granted by the Scottish Government.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: "I’m sure this news will be cheered by every player, official and fan in our game.

"All clubs in Scotland are desperate to get fans back safely in the open air and we are very grateful to the Scottish Government for approving this crucial first step towards the return of supporters to every ground.

"All of us in the SPFL have missed the enormous difference which our passionate supporters bring to the game, not to mention the absolutely crucial matchday revenue, and everyone involved will be working flat-out to ensure that the return of fans to the Global Energy Stadium goes smoothly this Friday."
