Ayrshire rivals Kilmarnock and Ayr United have learned their Premier Sports Cup fate this evening.
Killie will face Hibernian away in the tournament's last 16 while Ayr United's reward for topping Group E is a home tie with Dundee United.
Tommy Wright's Killie were forced to sweat to make the knockout stage as they were handed a 3-0 defeat in the first game against East Kilbride due to fielding a suspended player.
Then after a 2-1 win in the sun against Clyde, they equalised in the dying minutes against Morton before coming from behind on penalties.
A 2-1 win against Stranraer left them relying on Morton to pick up a result against Clyde, and a double from ex-Killie man Robbie Muirhead helped them to a 2-1 win at Cappielow.
Killie were knocked out at the first hurdle of this cup last year due to their squad being forced to isolate which handed Falkirk a 3-0 win and then a squad made up of mostly youngsters lost to Dunfermline.
But it's been far more plain sailing for The Honest Men, who topped their group without conceding a goal.
United began with a low key goalless draw at Albion Rovers on matchday one but quickly bounced back with a 3-0 win at home to Edinburgh City as new boy Tomi Adeloye bagged a double.
Ayr then notched an impressive 1-0 win at newly relegated Hamilton last week with new boy Cammy Salkeld on target.
And their group victory was secured when Saturday's opponents Falkirk had to forfeit the tie due to a Covid outbreak.
