The Premier League has not ruled out bringing 8:15pm kick-offs forward with pubs across the UK facing chaos in complying with new 10pm curfew rules.

A new mandatory 10pm closing time for pubs, bars and restaurants will see football fans miss the conclusion of matches currently scheduled for a 8:15pm kick-off – with Liverpool vs Arsenal currently scheduled for that slot next Monday.

Those wanting to watch the match down the pub face missing out on a potentially dramatic conclusion with new measures in place to battle rising Covid-19 cases ensuring they will be chucked out before the final whistle.

Following the announcement there has been a fierce backlash on social media with fans worried about missing the action.

And while no decisions have been made yet, Standard Sport understands the Premier League has not ruled out changing kick-off times to accommodate fans watching down the local.
