Premier League transfer rumours: What Man Utd must pay for defender, Arsenal target revealed

The Premier League transfer rumour mill is getting into full swing, with the summer window getting ever closer.

While all the key issues of this season are still to be decided, most clubs have one eye on potential deals once this campaign comes to a close.

Here, we round-up the latest gossip ahead of what is sure to be another interesting summer.

Tottenham target duo

Tottenham Hotspur may have not signed a new player last summer but if reports are to be believed, the club will make a swoop for two of their main targets after this season.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino also didn’t sign a player during the January transfer window but the Daily Express are reporting that both Diogo Jota and Jack Grealish are two players high on his wish list.

Jota, 22, has been outstanding for Wolves this season and could be brought in as a back-up for frontman Harry Kane, who has spent time on the sidelines during the current campaign.

Fernando Llorente did not step up during Kane’s aforementioned absence so recruiting someone such as Jota would be a good move.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express state that Spurs could look to take advantage of Aston Villa’s predicament in regards to potential financial fair play issues and may attempt to sign Grealish again, after being unable to get a £30m deal over the line last summer.

Record defender fee on Maguire

Speculation linking Leicester City star Harry Maguire to Manchester United intensified last summer after his impressive displays for England at the World Cup.

Whilst a deal has not come close in that time, it’s now being reported what Leicester want for the defender.

Reports have suggested that United could sign Maguire for around £65m but the Daily Star say that the Foxes have slapped a £90m fee on the dominant centre-back.

Arsenal targets revealed

Arsenal failed to sign any player permanently during the January transfer window but that will not be the plan this summer.

The Gunners have reportedly begun preparations to mount a serious challenge to acquire Joe Aribo from Charlton Athletic.

Mirror Sport claim that Arsenal want the 22-year-old, who they have reportedly watched on several occasions this season.
