Premier League transfer rumours: Florent Indalecio awaits Newcastle verdict, Man Utd chase duo

The international summer transfer window may now be shut, but the Newcastle United rumour mill is still in full flow.

Premier League sides can no longer sign players from overseas, but are still able to bring new faces in from the EFL until October 16.

But with just under three months until the January window is open, the transfer stories concerning top-flight sides are still as prominent as ever.

Here are today’s Premier League transfer rumours, including one from Newcastle.

Player convinced Newcastle will sign him

Florent Indalecio believes he “smashed” his Newcastle trial, as he waits for the club’s verdict.

Indalecio came through the AS Saint-Etienne academy with Magpies winger Allan Saint-Maximin, who helped him secure a trial at St. James’ Park.

The 23-year-old spent some time at Australian side Fraser Park, and the club’s captain Alexis Wenzel has been speaking about the Frenchman’s trial at Newcastle.

Wenzel told ChronicleLive: “It went well. He was calling me every couple of days. He was saying he gave 200% so he’s got no regrets. He thinks he smashed it actually.”

Man United chase Dortmund duo

Manchester United have identified Jadon Sancho and Erlin Haaland as their top targets, according to ESPN.

Man United chased Sancho all summer-long, but couldn’t agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund, while also holding an interest in Haaland in the past.

The Norwegian striker was signed by Dortmund for €20m and will have a €75m release clause in his contract - but that cannot be triggered until 2022.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes a move for Haaland would make ‘financial and sporting sense’.

Madrid rule out Pogba move

Despite Paul Pogba admitting that it is his dream to one day play for Real Madrid, the La Liga champions have ruled out making a move.

The Manchester United midfielder recently said: “Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid. Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day.”

However, despite Pogba’s plea, Madrid see Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe as their priority.

As well as that, Pogba’s wage demands are also putting Zinedine Zidane’s side off a move for the Frenchman, according to AS.

Villa eye move for Cherries striker

Aston Villa are looking to clear space on their current wage bill in order to make a move for Bournemouth forward Josh King.

That’s according to Football Insider, who report that Villa are still in the market for an attacker, despite the signings of Ollie Watkins, Bertrand Traore and Ross Barkley.

Dean Smith’s side are set to push West Ham United for King’s signature before the domestic window ends on October 16.

Villa are ready to get rid of Anwar El Ghazi, Frederic Guilbert and Henri Lansbury by the end of next week.

Mata offered ‘very lucrative deal’ to leave Man United

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has been offered a ‘very lucrative deal’ to leave Old Trafford for Saudi Arabia, according to Ian McGarry, via the Mirror.

Mata has been in Manchester for over six years now - making more than 250 appearances for the club since his move from Chelsea.

Football consultant and transfer expert, McGarry, has claimed that the 32-year-old has been offered a move away from Man United.

McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast: “We will start at Old Trafford with a shock move for fan-favourite Juan Mata, who has been offered a very, very lucrative deal to move from Manchester to Saudi Arabia. It’s our understanding that the offer that Mata has is worth around $15m net per-year to go and play in the Saudi Arabian league.”
