The Premier League season is now just weeks away from starting, with the fixtures being announced on Thursday.
Despite the season being so close, there is still plenty of time until the transfer window shuts - with the official closing date being October 6.
However, due to the financial impact that the coronavirus crisis has had on each club, teams will be looking to save as much money as possible whilst still improving their squad.
With that being said, here are the very latest Premier League transfer rumours.
Barca eye Wijnaldum move
Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is a target for new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman, according to Dutch publication Algemeen Dagblad.
Koeman stepped down from his role as Netherlands boss to join the Spanish giants and he wants to bring the Dutch midfielder to the Nou Camp, according to the report.
Wijnaldum is entering the final year of his existing contract at Anfield, and with the Reds reportedly interested in Thiago, the Dutchman could leave the club.
The 29-year-old has been a hit in the red half of Merseyside since joining the club from Newcastle United in July 2016.
United to hijack Arsenal deal
Manchester United are expected to make a last-ditch bid for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes and hijack Arsenal’s move for the centre-back.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who say that Magalhaes has delayed making a definitive decision on his future as he expects United to make a bid.
Arsenal have led the race for the highly-rated defender and the report says that they have an agreement in place with him.
However, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side entering the race officially late on, it could sway Magalhaes.
Brighton stand firm over White
Brighton & Hove Albion will reject a third bid from Leeds United for their defender Ben White, according to reports.
White spent last season at Leeds and enjoyed a magnificent campaign with the Whites - playing a big part in their Championship triumph.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be playing Premier League football for the first time in 16 years next season and they want to bring the talented defender back to Elland Road.
Leeds have reportedly already made two bids, and the latest one consists of £25m plus add-ons, but the Seagulls will again reject the offer.
Villa to make Watkins bid
Aston Villa are preparing to make an opening bid for Brentford striker Ollie Watkins in the next few days, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Villa are interested in the striker after a 26-goal campaign for the Bees last season in the Championship.
Dean Smith’s side are expected to come in with a bid in the region of £18m, but Brentford are expected to reject that.
The Bees are going to try and hold out for £25m, as Smith looks to reunite with one of his former forwards.
