Premier League transfer rumours: Arsenal eye free agent, Leicester join Spurs in midfielder race

It is now a month since a ball was last kicked in the Premier League and we are not expecting one to be kicked again anytime soon.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, professional football in England has been suspended, with no games played in the top flight or Football League since early March.

The 2019/20 Premier League campaign was suspended indefinitely on Friday, with the Premier League confirming that fixtures would only resume when it is “safe to do so.”

That means that on-field action is going to be denied the opportunity to write the headlines over the coming weeks, paving the way for transfer gossip and speculation to take centre stage.

Who scored the most Premier League goals at certain ages?

And with that in mind, here is a round-up of the day’s very latest transfer gossip from across the Premier League.

Arsenal confident of landing Bournemouth star

Arsenal are confident of signing out-of-contract Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The Cherries star, who has been with the South Coast club since 2013, is out-of-contract this summer and is showing no signs of putting pen to paper on a new deal.

It is believed that a whole host of clubs, both domestically and across Europe, are tracking the 26-year-old.

However, the report claims that Arsenal are in the driving seat to land the former Ipswich Town loanee and are confident of getting a deal done this summer.

Manchester United handed van de Beek boost

Manchester United’s hopes of securing a deal to sign Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek this summer have been handed a boost, report the Mail

The highly-rated Dutchman has been in fine form for the Eredivisie outfit this season and that has led to plenty of interest from clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Amongst the clubs interested are Real Madrid, though, contrary to reports, van de Beek insists he has reached no agreement with the Spanish giants about a summer switch to the La Liga club.

The midfielder said: "Playing in the sun is always nice, but no, I haven't started taking Spanish classes.

"I still haven't said 'yes' to anyone, it's all open. I know what I have here, I'm loved by Ajax and I love Ajax."

Hammers join Koch race

The Daily Star are reporting that West Ham United have entered the race to sign highly-rated FC Freiburg centre-back Robin Koch.

The 23-year-old Germany international has been making quite a name for himself in the Bundesliga this season, racking up 24 appearances in the Freiburg defence.

However, the Hammers face a stern battle to land the former FC Kaiserslautern man, with fellow Premier League clubs Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur also keen.

And it isn’t just those three top-flight clubs that are monitoring Koch, as Championship table-toppers Leeds United have also been heavily linked with a move for him as well in recent weeks.

Premier League duo plot Santamaria move

Leicester City are set to rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria this summer, according to the Express

It is claimed that the Foxes have been closely monitoring the 25-year-old since the turn of the year and are keen to bring him to the King Power Stadium as soon as the summer transfer window opens.

However, they are set to face a stern battle from Tottenham, who are also keen to land the midfielder, who has been compared to Chelsea midfielder and former Leicester man N’Golo Kante.

The Frenchman is a holding midfield player but is renowned for buzzing around the pitch and dictating Angers’ midfield.
