With the summer transfer window closed, clubs are doing everything they can to identify areas of their squad they need to improve in January.
The season is well underway and for managers, it's been a reminder - if they needed one - of the strengths and weaknesses of the players they have at their disposal.
The rumour mill is very busy at the moment, with many players looking for a way out of their respective clubs.
Here, we have gathered the very latest Premier League transfer rumours.
Premier League trio keen on Rangers star
Leeds United, Southampton and Everton are all interested in Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, according to TeamTalk, per TBR Football.
Kamara has established himself as one of Steven Gerrard's strongest options in the Scottish side's midfield, and has subsequently attracted interest from the Premier League.
The Finland international has been 'checked on' by the top-flight trio since the summer transfer window closed, the report claims.
However, there's more interest from across Europe - with Borussia Dortmund, Lille and Monaco all keen on the 24-year-old.
Mustafi rejects Arsenal contract extension
Shkodran Mustafi has rejected Arsenal's offer of a contract extension in the summer, according to football.london.
The German centre-back now wants to leave the Gunners at the end of the season, the report states, after failing to cement a first-team place under Mikel Arteta.
Mustafi has featured just once this season in the Premier League under Arteta - a substitute appearance in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Leicester City.
The 28-year-old sees his contract run out at the end of June 2021, meaning he will be able to leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer.
Liverpool have no interest in Kabak
Despite contrasting reports, Liverpool currently have no interest in Schalke defender Ozan Kabak, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Reports emerged following Virgil van Dijk's potentially season-ending injury against Everton recently, and the Reds could be on the lookout for a new centre-back in January.
However, reports of interest in Kabak have 'been met with head scratching inside the club', the report says.
A source believes it is solely an agent trying to get his client a move away from the Bundesliga club.
Palace open Townsend contract talks
Crystal Palace have opened contract talks with winger Andros Townsend to try and fend off interest from newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion.
That's according to Football Insider, who report that Slaven Bilic is a fan of Townsend and held a strong interest in the former England international during the summer transfer window.
However, he stayed put at Selhurst Park and now the Eagles have opened talks over a new and improved deal to stay in the capital.
Townsend's current contract expires at the end of this season, and Roy Hodgson's side are keen to not let his deal run down any more.
