Premier League told to make major Covid decision that will affect Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham

Thomas Frank has called for Premier League fixtures to be postponed to "break the chain" on the current Covid crisis.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's trip to Southampton on Saturday, Frank said he had been in touch with the Premier League, as well as other managers in the league who he said are in agreement.

"We think we should postpone the full round of Premier League games this weekend," he said, via Sky Sports.

"Covid cases are going through the roof at all Premier League clubs, everyone is dealing with it and having problems.

"To postpone this round and also the Carabao Cup round would give everyone a week at least, or four or five days to clean and do everything at the training ground so everything is clean and you break the chain."

Frank found out mid-press conference that the Brentford camp now has four more positive Covid-19 cases, taking the total to 13 among players and staff.

The Bees' have already had one game postponed this week after their clash with Manchester United was put on hold as a result of positive cases in the United camp.

But Frank thinks it's in the league's best interest to reschedule this weekend's games in order to help control the problem.

Brentford are due to travel to Southampton on Saturday to face Ralph Hasenhuttl's struggling Saints side, before hosting Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

However, if other manager's come out and rally behind his comments ahead of those games, the Premier League will be forced into making a decision.
