Premier League teams 'in agreement' on move that could benefit Liverpool

Liverpool may have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

All teams across English football are said to be in complete agreement with concluding the current season before starting up the 2020/21 campaign.

Liverpool currently command a 25-point lead at the summit, and are two wins away from glory.

But there was some concern among fans the league may be 'nulled and voided' following the coronavirus outbreak which has seen all action suspended.

But according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, clubs remain committed to finishing the campaign, which will be welcomed news to Liverpool.

Speaking on his podcast, he said: "There is a complete commitment across English football to get this season finished.

"There is plenty of modelling happening on how to finish the season.

"Null and void is completely off the table."

Last week it was announced all elite level football in England would be further suspended until April 30 to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In a joint statement released by English football's governing bodies it was agreed the season can be "extended indefinitely" past the June 1 deadline in order to meet its conclusion.
