Manchester United and Chelsea then saw out a bore draw at Old Trafford before Liverpool rounded things off with a 2-1 victory over Sheffield United.

Everton's unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-0 loss at Southampton in Sunday's early game. Wolves and Newcastle then drew 1-1 before Arsenal lost 1-0 at home to Leicester City in the late kick-off.

Monday night's action started with a 1-1 draw between West Brom and Brighton before Tottenham beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor.
