Arsenal claimed a big win in the top-four race by holding off the challenge of Manchester United to win 2-0 on Sunday.
Granit Xhaka's swerving opener put United on the back foot but they improved as the game wore on. However, Fred's clumsy challenge on Alexandre Lacazette saw the referee point to the penalty spot and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made no mistake.
Earlier, Eden Hazard rescued Chelsea yet again with a 91st-minute equaliser as Wolves were prevented from a famous win at Stamford Bridge after Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino scored doubles as Liverpool kept the heat on title rivals Manchester City with a 4-2 victory over Burnley at Anfield.
Gameweek 30 of the Premier League season began on Saturday with Brighton beating rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park for the first time ever in the Premier League.
Tottenham welcomed back Dele Alli for their match at Southampton, in what was the pick of the 3pm kick offs, but the return of the England international wasn't enough to stop Spurs from slipping to a third defeat in four Premier League matches.
Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling scored a second-half hat-trick as City beat Watford 3-1 victory at Etihad Stadium. West Ham were beaten at Cardiff, Fulham lost at home to Leicester City, while Everton spurned a 2-0 lead at Newcastle, with Rafa Benitez's side winning the match 3-2.
