The Premier League enters 2022 with a bang as the top four face off in a huge weekend of action.
Arsenal hosted Manchester City to begin the New Year with a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday at Emirates Stadium, with Rodri popping up with a last-gasp winner against 10 men.
Unfortunately, Leicester versus Norwich was lost to Covid-19 but the other 3pm GMT kick-off, Watford against Tottenham, went ahead as Davinson Sanchez notched a last-gasp winner for Spurs.
At 5.30pm, West Ham made the short trip to Crystal Palace, hanging on for a valuable 3-2 London derby win despite a late Eagles fightback.
Sunday began with a plethora of 2pm kick-offs, including Brentford’s comeback victory over Aston Villa. However, Southampton’s match at home to Newcastle has been postponed amid a Magpies outbreak.
Then came a huge game in the context of the title race, with Liverpool and Chelsea drawing at Stamford Bridge to leave Man City ten points clear.
Manchester United lost to Wolves, as Joao Moutinho’s late goal claimed all three points for the visitors.
In delayed Premier League action, Southampton cruised past Brentford before West Ham moved up into the top four with victory over Norwich.
