Liverpool have extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 22 points with a thumping 4-0 win over Southampton and Manchester City's loss at Tottenham.
A Mohamed Salah double lead a second-half blitz of Southampton on Saturday, which secured a record-equalling 20th straight home league win for the champions-elect.
The weekend concluded with one of the most entertaining fixtures for some time as Tottenham earned a smash-and-grab win over City, which saw VAR award a penalty, which was saved, VAR rule out a penalty, a host of missed chances, one red card and a debut goal from Steven Bergwijn.
In the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, Chelsea found an unlikely hero in the form of Antonio Rudiger, who scored twice, to earn a 2-2 draw with Leicester.
There was plenty of goals in the 3 o’clock kick-offs as West Ham squandered a 3-1 lead at home to draw with Brighton, Everton won 3-2 at Watford, while Bournemouth defeated Aston Villa 2-1.
Sheffield United won 1-0 at Crystal Palace, while Newcastle and Norwich played out a goalless draw at St James' Park. In the late kick-off, Manchester United handed a debut to new signing Bruno Fernandes but could not find a way past Wolves.
The other Sunday game saw Arsenal escap Burnley with a point after again starting brightly and fading.
