Another new manager - well, repeat manager in this case - started his new job at 5.30pm as David Moyes' West Ham thrashed Bournemouth 4-0. Manchester City beat Carlo Ancelotti's Everton 2-1 and Crystal Palace rescued a late draw at Norwich.
The Mikel Arteta era got underway properly late on as Arsenal comfrotably beat an abject Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates, while Liverpool maintaining their remarkable unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United at Anfield to go 13 points clear.
