Liverpool’s perfect record came to end at Old Trafford on Sunday but Adam Lallana’s late strike did at least secure a point which extends their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Jurgen Klopp's title chasers trailed with five minutes of normal time remaining after Marcus Rashford put Manchester United ahead, with Manchester City’s victory at Crystal Palace having cut the Red’s lead down to five points.
But Lallana – who had replaced captain Jordan Henderson in the second half – tapped home to rescue a point for Liverpool.
Elsewhere this weekend, West Ham lost 2-0 at Everton in the early game before Chelsea beat Newcastle 1-0, Tottenham rescued a 1-1 home draw vs Watford, while Arsenal round off the weekend's action with a trip to face Sheffield United on Monday night.
