Premier League supercomputer has good news for Liverpool fans after Virgil van Dijk injury

Liverpool are being tipped to win the Premier League despite losing Virgil van Dijk to injury after a supercomputer calculated the numbers behind each team's start to the season.

Just five matches into the 2020/21 campaign - and with plenty more injuries, plus squad changes to come in January across the Premier League - it seems like an impossible task, but Aqua Digital Rising have crunched the numbers from the opening few games.

They have come up with what they believe to be the most likely final Premier League table using the data and analytical tools available at this moment in time.

They say they have 'analysed 500+ isolated data points historical, current, across social media, including player profiles, individual and team performance, as well as commercial positioning'.

Using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and mathematics, they can then turn the information into a 'continuous real-time index'. This can then be used to indicate where each team can expect to finish this season.

According to the mathematical calculations of the computer, Liverpool will end the season on 83 points, two clear of Manchester City, who have to settle for second spot once again.

That would mean them heading into the last game of the season - at home to Crystal Palace - potentially needing to win in order to retain their Premier League title. At the same time, Man City will play at the Etihad Stadium against Everton.

Tottenham and Arsenal make up the third and fourth places respectively, with Everton coming fifth, a point ahead of Chelsea and one outside the Champions League spots.

Brighton, West Brom and Fulham are the three sides tipped to finish inside the bottom three, with Burnley escaping the drop by just two points.

Sheffield United, who travel to Anfield later today, are being tipped to finish just four points clear of the relegation zone.
