The Premier League are having talks with Manchester City and Arsenal about re-arranging their clash for next Wednesday.
Arsenal were due to play at the Etihad last Sunday but it was postponed because of the Carabao Cup final and now they are looking at next week as both clubs have a free midweek.
It would be Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s first return to City after leaving in December to take over at the Emirates.
Premier League bosses have suggested the date and a decision is expected in the next 24 hours with City keen to avoid a fixture pile-up at the end of the season.
Arsenal face West Ham on Saturday while City have the Manchester derby with arch rivals United on Sunday, meaning Arteta’s men have an extra 24 hours to prepare.
And Guardiola has suggested whatever ever happens this season, the Blues cannot top their success of last term.
"I think the most beautiful one is the Premier League and we are not going to win that, so it can't be better," said Guardiola of his side's campaign.
"Always I think the Premier League or La Liga, the domestic title, is the most difficult and most important because it means every single day that you have been consistent.
"I think we were consistent enough. I would say we have the numbers that could win a normal Premier League but I think it (Liverpool's standard) was exceptional.
"Now we have the Premier League to finish second and, of course, we have the FA Cup and the second leg against Real Madrid in the Champions League."
