Premier League striker makes extraordinary Sergio Ramos claim

Sergio Ramos has developed a reputation similar to that of a pantomime villain.

But Bournemouth striker Josh King says the Spaniard is not the man we all have him down for.

King faced off with Ramos in Saturday's Euro 2020 qualifying clash between his native Norway and Spain .

And whilst Norway fell to a 2-1 defeat, Goal report that King says his experience of Real Madrid star Ramos could not have been more pleasant.

"Ramos has a reputation of being dirty and rough, but I do not remember going up against a centre-back as nice as him,” King said.

"I have not seen all of his matches but I think that all of his challenges were clean and he seemed to me a very good sportsman.

"He won some duels and I won others, I think it was a good game."

King's opinion will perhaps differ from that of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who was injured by Ramos in last seasons Champions League final.

Ramos dragged Salah to the ground during the match, dislocating the Egyptian's shoulder forcing him to be substituted from the game.

Opinion of 32-year-old Ramos as a dirty player is perhaps justified somewhat, considering he has picked up 25 red cards during his career.

He has managed to collect 13 yellow cards already this season, but was on best behaviour for the clash with Norway, and scored the winner.

King had earlier pulled Norway level from the penalty spot after Rodrigo's opener, before Ramos restored Spain's lead with his own spot kick just six minutes later.
