Premier League star posts perfect tweet after Liverpool beat Barcelona

Anfield has seen some special nights but not many can compare to Liverpool's 4-0 victory against Barcelona this evening.

The Reds were 3-0 down to Luis Suarez and co after the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

But two goals from Divock Origi and a brace from Gini Wijnaldum secured a sensational comeback - and passage to the final in Madrid next month.

Tomorrow night Jurgen Klopp's side will learn who they will face as Spurs and Ajax fight it out to meet Liverpool in Spain.

The result tonight rocked the entire football world - and one Premier League star summed it up perfectly.

Tweeting after the final whistle, Crystal Palace player Patrick van Aanholt said: "Anyone who can’t be happy for Liverpool right now are not fans of football.

"Tonight was a write off and against all odds they just showed the world what the Premier League is about."

Minutes earlier, the Dutch international posted: "Gini...Virg...Liverpool! This is English football."

Asked if this was the greatest English team performance of all time, he added: "It’s up there, but you still have to say United/Bayern & Liverpool/AC etc there are other top top performances out there."
