Premier League set for meeting next week to plan for remainder of 2019/20 season

The Premier League are set to meet next week to discuss potential plans for the remainder of the 2019/20 season, according to reports.

On Friday morning it was announced that football in England's top division, the EFL and the WSL would be suspended until at least April 3 due to fears surrounding the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Earlier that day it was revealed that one Everton player was in self-isolation after showing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, following news from the previous day that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had undertaken the same measures.

Following Friday's announcement following an emergency meeting, in which the Blues were represented by CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale, it now seems the Premier League are putting the wheels in motion for the rest of the campaign.

According to Sky Sports , the 20 clubs are set to meet again on Thursday to establish plans for the remainder of 2019/20, with it being believed they will have more information following a UEFA European football stakeholders meeting on Tuesday.

A number of measures have already been touted, but a statement from the Premier League on Friday suggested that the main aim is to play the last matches.

The rest of the Everton squad and staff are still being advised to stay away from club workplaces including Finch Farm, Goodison Park and the Royal Liver Building until further notice.
