Premier League's top 20 marathon men revealed - and no Man Utd players make the cut

Chelsea fans have not been shy in voicing their displeasure at how Maurizio Sarri’s style of play panned out in his debut season in charge.

But new figures outlining the players who covered the most distance during last season's Premier League show that the Chelsea players have certainly been putting in the hard work for their manager.

Chelsea had three of the top ten with Jorginho (418.8km), N'Golo Kante (407km), and Cesar Azpilicueta (403.3km) amongst the front runners.

But the No.1 spot went to Crystal Palace ’s Luka Milivojevic who covered 447.1kms of grass, which was just 1.5km more than Burnley's Jack Cork.

The rest of the top ten is made up of Leicester duo Wilfred Ndidi and Ben Chilwell, Palace's James McArthur, Everton's Gylfi Sigurdsson and Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Known for their ability as hard workers, it is unsurprising to see Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Liverpool's Andrew Robertson in the top 20, as they finished with 381.6km and 377km respectively.

In terms of the most distance covered per 90 minutes, Wolves ’ youngster Morgan Gibbs-White finished atop the list with 13.58km covered per game.

The stats were slightly skewed however as the 19-year-old only played 650 minutes this season, whereas James Milner - who came second with 12.68km - played 1786 minutes of football.

Tottenham ’s Christen Eriksen was the only player to be included in the top ten per 90 minutes and the top 20 in total distance covered.

However maybe most notably, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer emphasised his desire to have the fittest team in the league after Jose Mourinho’s departure at Manchester United , there are no United players in either list.

In terms of total distance covered as a team, it was revealed that Arsenal covered the most miles while north London rivals Tottenham came second.
