Premier League rumours: Man United make Sancho decision, Leicester eye Chilwell replacement

The start of the new Premier League season is just a matter of weeks away, and there’s plenty of business to be done before the big kick-off.

The 2020/21 campaign is set to get underway on September 12, just over a month after the previous season concluded.

With the transfer window open, clubs - including Leeds United - have already been dipping into the market, and there plenty of big deals still in the offing.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from the Premier League.

United to give up on Sancho pursuit

Manchester United are considering giving up on their pursuit of Jadon Sancho this summer, and waiting another year before targeting him again.

United have been left frustrated in their attempts to sign the England international so far, with Borussia Dortmund holding firm on their asking price.

The Bundesliga side are demanding around £108million for the winger, with the two sides unable to reach an agreement thus far.

And, according to the Express, United are now considering whether they should put a hold on their pursuit until next summer.

Foxes identify Chilwell replacement

Leicester City have reportedly discussed Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico as they begin to look for replacements for Ben Chilwell.

The England international is thought to be closing in on a move to Chelsea, while the Foxes could now go after one of the Blues’ former targets.

Tagliafico was previously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but with Chilwell apparently set for a big-money move, the King Power Stadium could prove to be his next destination.

The Daily Mail report that the 27-year-old has a number of offers and would prefer to join a Champions League side, but recognises Leicester’s status as a Premier League contender.

Wolves ready to cash in on Traore

Wolves are reportedly ready to cash in on Adama Traore this summer, with Nuno Espirito Santo told he needs to raise his own transfer funds.

The club’s owners Fosun International are said to be tightening the purse strings after being hit by the coronavirus pandemic, which could lead to a few departures.

The Mirror report that Wolves are now prepared to listen to offers for Traore, who has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

Wolves hope that those two clubs will make substantial bids for the 24-year-old, with the Reds and City seeing Traore as an impact player.
