United monitor Reguilon
MEN report that Manchester United are monitoring Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Sevilla, enjoying an impressive campaign as he helped them to the Europa League title.
That has led to plenty of speculation over his future this summer, with Chelsea and Spurs also credited with interest in him.
Reguilon is behind Marcelo and Ferland Mendy in the Real Madrid pecking order and United have identified him as a potential target due to uncertainties over their own left-back position.
Whilst Luke Shaw impressed in the second half of last season, he sustained an ankle injury, with youngster Brandon Williams coming in for some criticism for his performances as Shaw’s replacement.
Messi reverses decision
TyC Sports in Argentina claim Lionel Messi is close to signing a contract extension at Barcelona.
Messi stunned the footballing world last week when revealing he wanted to leave Barcelona following a tumultuous few seasons at the Nou Camp.
That led to interest from a host of clubs, with Manchester City claimed to be the closest to securing the 33-year-old’s signature.
Yet, after a meeting between Jorge Messi - the player’s father and agent - and Barca president Josep Bartomeu, it has been claimed that Messi has reversed his decision to leave.
Hammers eye Serie A defender
The Evening Standard report that West Ham are eyeing a move for Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Having agreed a deal to sell Grady Diangana to West Brom, the Hammers are set to reinvest that money into their squad.
Japanese international Tomiyasu is a versatile defender who can play at right-back or centre-back.
Newcastle are also linked with the 21-year-old, who only joined Bologna last year.
