Premier League rumours: Liverpool to snub Timo Werner deal, Daniel Levy makes Christian Eriksen claim

The January transfer window is just a few weeks away from opening, as clubs begin to plan for the 'difficult' trading period.

With Chelsea's transfer ban listed and the top clubs pressing for honours on several fronts, there are sure to be some deals struck in the first month of 2020.

Here is a round-up of the latest Premier League transfer rumours.

Liverpool end Werner interest

Liverpool's long-term reported interest in Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner is over.

The Reds had been thought to be long-term admirers of the German striker, who would offer an alternative attacking threat to Roberto Firmino.

However, The Star reports that Liverpool are now satisfied with their attacking options after completing the signing of Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg.

The Japanese striker will join the Reds in January for a bargain price of £7.25m.

Levy makes bold Eriksen claim

Daniel Levy has insisted that Tottenham are not "afraid" to sell Christian Eriksen to a Premier League rival in January.

The Dane's contract at Spurs is out of contract in the summer, meaning he can sign a pre-contract agreement with any European club from January 1.

With that in mind, Tottenham will have to cash in on Eriksen in January, with Manchester United thought to be interested in his services.

However, Levy has said: “We are honestly not scared to trade with our rivals.”

Chelsea and Tottenham chase Lille star

Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho are set to go head to head in the January transfer window with both clubs tracking Lille star Victor Osimhen.

The 20-year-old striker has scored nine goals in 17 appearances for the French club this season.

However, Sky Sports report that despite Chelsea and Tottenham registering an interest in him, Osimhen is happy to remain at Lille until the summer in hope to fire them into the Champions League.
