The latest Premier League transfer rumours from Leeds United's rivals.
Spurs and West Ham eye Rodon
Tottenham and West Ham could both make a move to sign Swansea City defender Joe Rodon before the end of the domestic transfer window, as reported by WalesOnline.
Interest from Spurs was well documented on Deadline Day but a bid was not forthcoming, though the fact that clubs have until the end of the domestic transfer window on October 16 to conclude a deal means the speculation is not over.
Spurs have registered their interest in the defender already and West Ham, who have faced a wealth of criticism for their lack of movement in the transfer market, are also understood to be keen.
Benitez eyeing return from China
Former Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is eyeing a return from China after a difficult period in the Far East, the Independent reports.
Strict regulations have made his time with Dalian Pro troublesome and, while he takes home a hefty pay cheque, he is keen on winning trophies and, when his deal expires at the end of next year, he will be looking to land a job with a club in Europe who can compete for silverware.
The coronavirus pandemic has only added to his issues, blocking his frequent trips to see his family on the Wirral and his squad are also becoming increasingly frustrated with their own travel plans being significantly disrupted.
Liverpool overtake Man United in Sancho chase
Manchester United now find themselves behind Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the hunt to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund after failing to complete a swoop this summer, reports from the Independent state.
United were unwilling to meet Dortmund’s demands but now could face missing out entirely, with figures close to the England forward believing a move to Liverpool or Bayern is more likely to occur.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has held discussions with Sancho in the past and, while he could not sanction a £100m move this summer, that situation could be different next season - and United will have fierce competition in the market.
Barcelona €2m away from Garcia signing
Barcelona were just €2m short of securing a deal to sign long-term target Eric Garcia from Manchester City, Marca states.
The Catalan side made a Deadline Day swoop for their former academy player, offering €10m up front and a further €8m in add-ons which was rejected by City - who simply wanted an extra €2m in add-ons, which Barcelona were unprepared to pay.
As a result, Barcelona have been forced to wait to get their man but Garcia is prepared to wait until the New Year, where he will be free to sign a pre-contractual agreement with the La Liga side ahead of the expiration of his contract next summer.
