Premier League rumours: Liverpool rule out Fraser move, Zlatan set for Manchester United return?

It might be the international break, but there is still plenty of transfer news and rumours around the Premier League as the January transfer window comes into view.

A number of clubs could be set to do some big business in the New Year, including some of the early pace-setters in this season’s title race.

Here’s a round-up of the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip from around the Premier League.

Liverpool not interested in Fraser move

Liverpool are not entertaining a January move for Ryan Fraser despite the Bournemouth winger being linked with a move to Anfield, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and could be available for a knock-down price when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.

But the Reds have no interest in preparing a bid for the Scotland international, with Jurgen Klopp more than happy with the attacking options at his disposal.

Wolves beaten to rising star

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been beaten to the signing of rising star Edson Silva, Football Insider says.

The Premier League club were preparing a move for the midfielder after he caught the eye of scouts while playing for Portuguese club GD Alcochetense.

But a Wolves source has said that Sporting Lisbon have moved quickly to fend off interest from Wolves to agree terms with Silva.

Man United return for Zlatan?

Manchester United are reportedly set to rival AC Milan for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s signature in January, according to The Mirror.

Man United are expected to target a centre-forward in the New Year, with out-of-favour Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic widely tipped as their most likely option.

But they’ve also been linked with a return for their former striker, with Ibrahimovic available as a free agent after his spell with LA Galaxy ended.

Leicester set for battle for ‘little Messi’

Leicester City are set to battle some European giants for the signature of a Nigerian youngster dubbed ‘little Messi’, according to LeicestershireLive.

The Foxes are just one of the teams looking to sign Akinkumni Amoo after the 17-year-old caught the attention during the Under-17s World Cup in Brazil last summer.

They face some big competition though, with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG also reportedly in the running for the young Nigerian.
