Premier League rumours: Leeds United wait on Man Utd deal as Arsenal could secure Aouar windfall

Here's your round-up of all the latest Premier League transfer news and rumours for Monday, September 21.

Leeds waiting on Man United's Sancho pursuit

Leeds could revive their interest in Daniel James - but only if the winger becomes surplus to requirements at Manchester United.

According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils are still keen on making a move for £108m forward Jadon Sancho, and any move from the Yorkshire club is likely to hinge on any successful effort to bring James on board.

Leeds were on the brink of signing James from Swansea City 16 months ago before a bid collapsed at the eleventh hour on transfer deadline day.

James went on to sign at Old Trafford last summer in a £15m move, but has recently slipped down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Should they complete a move for Sancho, it could well push James out the door.

Palace deny move for Brewster

Crystal Palace have rejected suggestions that the club have made a bid for Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.

Having enjoyed an impressive spell at Swansea City last season, Brewster has seen his future become the subject of increasing speculation in recent weeks, with Aston Villa, Sheffield United and West Brom all believed to have shown an interest.

Monday morning saw Crystal Palace linked with a formal offer of £19m plus £6m in add-ons, but chairman Steve Parish has denied such suggestions.

He tweeted: "We have asked Sky to take this down as it is a total fabrication from start to finish. We have not made a bid formal or informal.”

Chelsea agree Mendy fee

Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee with Rennes to sign goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

According to the BBC, the 28-year old has been identified as the man to give Kepa Arrizabalaga competition between the sticks at Stamford Bridge, after the Spaniard made another high-profile error in the defeat to Liverpool at the weekend.

Mendy kept nine clean sheets in 24 league appearances last season, compared to Kepa's eight clean sheets in 33 Premier League games.

Lazio ponder Mustafi move

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi could be on his way out of the Emirates.

Corriere della Sera claim that the Serie A giants are willing to meet Arsenal's €15m asking price, although a deal could be done for less.

Mustafi's current deal is set to run out next summer, and that could only further boost Lazio's chances of getting a deal done as the Gunners look to raise money for their ongoing pursuits of Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar respectively.
