Premier League rumours: Chelsea exodus, Liverpool make Van Dijk decision, Man Utd exit on cards

It may only be February but the rumour mill is starting to heat up ahead of the summer transfer window.

Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reportedly making decisions about their squads ahead of the summer.

Here is the latest round-up of rumours.

Chelsea could let go of eight players

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has become frustrated with the club's campaign and could ship out eight players.

The Blues may be fourth at the moment but a Champions League loss at home to Bayern Munich in midweek highlighted the distance that Chelsea are away from the top teams.

The Sun have reported that Chelsea could let eight players depart this summer. Those include Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho and Ross Barkley.

Liverpool now want to make the 28-year-old centre-back the highest-paid defender in the world, per the report.

United exit on the cards

Roma are stepping up their efforts to sign Manchester United defender Chris Smalling on a permanent deal.

The 30-year-old defender joined Roma last summer on a season-long loan deal and he has impressed in the Serie A.

The Italians are now 'accelerating talks' with United ahead of the summer, according to Calciomercato .

City eyeing up Holgate

Manchester City are weighing up a bid for Everton defender Mason Holgate.

The 23-year-old has played 20 matches for the Toffees in the Premier League this season and starred in the process.

That has caught the attention of City, according to Mirror Football , with the Blues set to make a £30million play this summer.
