Premier League referee's plea after thieves steal precious FA Cup final memento from Leeds store

Premier League referee Jon Moss has revealed that thieves walked into his record store in Headingley and nicked a priceless piece of memorabilia from his proudest day in the game.

Moss was in charge of the 2015 FA Cup final at Wembley, when Arsenal beat Aston Villa 4-0, and the 49-year-old kept his shirt as a reminder of the big occasion.

It was proudly framed on a wall in The Vinyl Whistle, .

The shop has fast become a popular haunt with music and football fans alike, but the precious shirt was stolen while the store was packed full of people on Friday, December 6.

It is believed that the suspects simply took the framed shirt off the wall and walked off with it in broad daylight.

"This afternoon whilst the shop was busy a group of people entered our shop and stole my FA Cup final framed shirt off the wall and ran out with it," tweeted Moss from the shop's official account.

"The shirt has no money value apart from sentimental value to me and I would appreciate any help getting it back."

Plenty of wellwishers have offered words of support to Moss on Twitter, with one person saying: "So sorry to hear. So many people won't understand the hard work that's gone into earning that top. Hope it's returned."

Moss has refereed top-flight matches since 2011 and most recently oversaw Brighton's 2-2 draw with Wolves yesterday (Sunday).
