Premier League referee Mike Dean as you've never seen him before

Premier League referee Mike Dean was the centre of attention as Tranmere Rovers reached the League Two Play-Off Final on Monday night without even being on duty, much to the delight of eagle-eyed supporters.

The official, who is a boyhood Tranmere fan, is one of the top-flight's more recognisable referees and made headlines earlier this season when he became the first ref to hand out 100 red cards in the Premier League.

With the regular season now over, Dean spent Monday night watching Tranmere take on Forest Green Rovers in the second leg of their League Two playoff semi-final, joining fans in the away end at The New Lawn.

With Tranmere carrying a 1-0 lead from the first leg, James Norwood cancelled out Joseph Mills' opener on the night to book a final date with Newport County at Wembley.

And with the Sky Sports cameras already spotting Dean earlier in the game, they quickly panned to the official at the final to witness him wildly leading the celebrations, much to the delight and amusement of fans around him.

'Mike loves his Tranmere,' said manager Micky Mellon of their celebrity fan. 'He comes in to see us a lot and I'm really pleased for him.'
