Premier League predictions: Liverpool for the title, Arsenal man to star and Brighton to go down

Our writers give their tips for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.

Simon Collings

Champions: Manchester City

London pecking order: Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Watford, Crystal Palace

Bottom club: Norwich

It will be a big year for: Reiss Nelson. The 19-year-old was brilliant on loan at German side Hoffenheim last season and now wants to show that he can cut it in the Premier League.

Dan Kilpatrick

Champions: Liverpool

London pecking order: Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Watford, Crystal Palace.

Bottom club: Newcastle.

It will be a big year for: Ryan Sessegnon. Mauricio Pochettino’s record of improving young players, particularly full-backs, is remarkable. His potential is massive.

Jack Rosser

Champions: Manchester City

London pecking order: Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Watford, Crystal Palace

Bottom club: Newcastle

It will be a big year for: Dele Alli. By Alli’s standards last season was a quiet, frustrating one. It’s time for a commanding campaign and he must step up should Christian Eriksen move on.

James Olley

Bottom club: Sheffield United

It will be a big year for: VAR. Widespread introduction of technology in the Premier League was inevitable, but successful implementation is imperative to avoid further controversy.

Giuseppe Muro

Champions: Manchester City

London pecking order: Tottenham, Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea, Watford, Crystal Palace.

Bottom club: Brighton

It will be a big year for: Ben Johnson. The 19-year-old West Ham full-back looks a real talent. Don’t be surprised if he is a regular in Manuel Pellegrini’s side by Christmas.

James Robson

Champions: Manchester City

London pecking order: Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Watford

Bottom club: Brighton

It will be a big year for: Tanguy Ndombele. He might be the signing of the summer — and precisely what Spurs needed. He could become the most dynamic midfielder in Europe.

David Lynch

Champions: Manchester City

London pecking order: Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Watford, Crystal Palace

Bottom club: Brighton

It will be a big year for: Naby Keita. The talented midfielder endured an injury-hit debut season at Liverpool, but looks ready to prove his worth this time around.
