Premier League set to postpone Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace due to further Covid cases

Crystal Palace's game against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow is set to be called off due to further Covid-19 cases within the Eagles' camp, football.london understands.

Neither Spurs, Palace or the Premier League are yet to confirm the news, with football.london sources saying the league are waiting to make the decision but that it is highly likely the game will be called off.

Two members of Palace's backroom staff have tested positive for the virus, which adds to the small number of cases reported within the playing group by manager Patrick Vieira on Friday.

The Crystal Palace players had delayed travelling to their hotel on Christmas Day until they could hear back from the Premier League, who are now set to postpone the game.

Vieira had admitted on Friday he was "worried" about how the weekend would unravel for the club, having already announced that players had been isolating after receiving positive tests within the week.

"But when you are looking at the number of cases around we are started to be worried. We had a couple of cases in the football club in the last few days," Vieira told reporters.

"We have tried our best to prevent all these kinds of situations but it is worrying. The evolution for the next couple of days we don't know how it will go."

London World state that Palace players will undergo further pre-match testing before a final decision is taken by the Premier League, though it is expected more positive cases will develop given squad interaction.
