Premier League opening weekend TV fixtures confirmed following release

Liverpool will open the 2019/20 Premier League season with match against Norwich City at Anfield on Friday August 9, with the game the first to be broadcast live on television in the new season.

The match will be live on Sky Sports, and will be the first of five games shown on the opening weekend of the new campaign.

Daniel Farke will bring his newly-promoted Canaries to Anfield to take on fellow German Jurgen Klopp, with the Reds playing in their first match since being crowned European champions following their Champions League final victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid on June 1.

The next TV match of the weekend will see champions Manchester City travel to West Ham for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off, with that match broadcast live on BT Sport in their first live offering of the new season.

Spurs will begin their first full season in their new stadium with a game at home to newly-promoted Aston Villa in the Saturday evening kick-off, with Sky Sports screening that match in a reversal of TV times with BT Sport from last season.

Sunday then brings the mouthwatering double-header of Newcastle vs Arsenal at 2pm, and - in the pick of the opening weekend games - Manchester United vs Chelsea at Old Trafford.
