Premier League odds: Liverpool out to 7/2 after dropping points at Fulham on opening weekend

The Premier League has only been back for one weekend but Liverpool's title hopes have already taken a knock after the Reds failed to take maximum points at Fulham on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side needed to come from behind twice to earn just a point at Craven Cottage but that means two points dropped in a game Liverpool were red-hot favourites to win.

Manchester City responded with a routine 2-0 win at West Ham on Sunday and Betway reacted by shortening City into 8/15 to retain their title while pushing Liverpool out to 7/2 (from 2/1) in their Premier League odds list.

It goes without saying that the 2022/23 title race has barely got going but Liverpool cannot afford to give City a head start, especially now that they have Erling Haaland in their ranks. By the time the Reds take to the field against Crystal Palace on Monday night, they are highly likely to be five points behind City and that really does crank up the pressure, even at this early stage.

Haaland, who scored twice at the London Stadium on Sunday, is now as short as 5/4 with Betway to win the Premier League Golden Boot, with Mohamed Salah now out to 5/1 to win the award for a fourth season despite getting off the mark on Saturday. Darwin Nunez, who also opened his account at Craven Cottage, looks an appealing each-way play (1/4 odds top 4) at 9/1.

At the other end of the Premier League, Everton were clipped into 11/4 from 7/2 in Betway's relegation odds list. The Toffees suffered an opening day defeat against Chelsea while newly promoted Bournemouth and Fulham, sides expected to be around the drop zone, picked up valuable points.

Despite their opening-day win over Aston Villa, Bournemouth remain red-hot favourites with the layers to make a quick return to the second tier.
