Manchester City have dominated the nominees for August's player of the month after the Premier League announced the shortlist.
Three City players made the cut while just one from table-toppers Liverpool was included.
Kevin de Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling are all up for the award, as well as the Reds' Roberto Firmino, while Burnley's Ashley Barnes and Norwich's Teemu Pukki make up the pack.
Aguero has been in red-hot form for the defending champions, having scored six goals in just four appearances already this season.
He leads the way in terms of top goalscorers in the division, ahead of both Sterling and Pukki who have netted five each, while Barnes has scored four.
Firmino has been central to Liverpool's perfect start to the campaign, scoring twice and providing a further two assists, while de Bruyne has laid on five goals for his team and notching one for himself.
In the manager of the month award, both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp feature, in a list that compiles three men who have all managed Liverpool.
Former Reds bosses Roy Hodgson ( Crystal Palace ) and Brendan Rodgers ( Leicester ) also make the list.
With four wins from four it would be difficult to look past Klopp for the first monthly prize of the season, although City have scored more goals.
Leicester and Palace meanwhile make up the Premier League's top four after solid starts.
Rodgers' side remain unbeaten after two wins and two draws, including earning a point at Stamford Bridge; while Palace bounced back from a defeat to Sheffield United to win at Old Trafford.
