Premier League - 3pm results: United edge past Southampton, City move top and Wolves sink Cardiff

Manchester City moved back to the top of the Premier League but lost Kevin de Bruyne to injury in a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

In a typically frenetic north London derby, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's last-minute penalty was saved as Arsenal settled for a 1-1 draw at Tottenham.

The stalemate saw Tottenham slip 10 points behind City while Arsenal were knocked out of the top four as a resurgent Manchester United came from a goal down to claim a 3-2 win over Southampton.

Elsewhere, Brighton clinched their first league win of the year as they edged out rock-bottom Huddersfield 1-0 at the Amex Stadium, moving the Seagulls five points clear of the relegation zone.

Burnley suffered their second defeat in a week as Phil Bardsley's own goal plus efforts from Michy Batshuayi and Wilfried Zaha helped Crystal Palace clinch a 3-1 win at Turf Moor.

Quickfire first-half strikes from Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez ushered Wolves to a 2-0 triumph over Cardiff at Molineux.

Good morning and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's 3pm Premier League matches, with both Manchester United and Manchester City in action.
 
With all eyes on the north London derby at 12:30pm, the two Manchester clubs take a bit of a back seat, but they will have their attentions on the result between Tottenham and Arsenal as it could have a huge impact on the remainder of the season for these two sides. United are just a point off Arsenal and, more interestingly, five points off third-placed Spurs, while City will be hoping for an Arsenal victory to see Tottenham's title challenge killed off for good.
 
Once the 3pm games get underway, it's off to Old Trafford we go where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are looking to continue their charge up the table as they take on relegation-threatened Southampton. City meanwhile are heading to the south coast to take on Bournemouth, who are looking to get back into the top half of the table.
 
Elsewhere, Brighton can further dent Huddersfield's hopes as the face off in a relegation battle at the Amex, while Burnley host Crystal Palace at Turf Moor. High-flying Wolves take on Cardiff City, while the day's evening kick-off sees West Ham take on Newcastle at the London Stadium.
