Premier League high-flyers tipped for Nottingham Forest transfer

West Ham United are said to be the latest club to show an interest in Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall.

Worrall has apparently been catching the eye of Premier League sides with his performances for Forest this season.

The 24-year-old centre-back has previously been linked with long-time admirers Burnley and also Norwich City, who will be back in the top flight next season after winning the Championship title.

Now West Ham have been "making calls" about Worrall, according to The Sun's Alan Nixon.

Hammers boss David Moyes is reportedly looking to sign another defender in the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Moyes' side have been enjoying an impressive season and currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, just outside the Champions League qualification spots.

Worrall's form has been one of the positives to come out of a difficult campaign for Forest,

The Nigel Doughty Academy graduate has formed the beginnings of a good partnership with Scott McKenna

Worrall is under contract at the City Ground until 2024, although Forest look likely to face a battle to keep hold of him come the end of the season.

The player only recently addressed the speculation surrounding his future, ahead of Saturday's goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

He told NottinghamshireLive: “It’s the same with any player under the age of 24! It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got two left feet or whatever, you’re always getting linked with whoever.

“That’s just the way football is, and it won’t change.

“The media push the stories. Some of them are true, some of them aren’t.

“It’s up to Forest and, at the end of the day, if interest does come in, to make decisions."
