Premier League fixtures 'leaked' as Newcastle United begin campaign with home clash against Liverpool

The opening weeks of the Premier League's 22/23 fixtures have been leaked online claiming Newcastle United will begin the season against Liverpool. Scheduled for Saturday 6 August, Eddie Howe's side then travel to Manchester United the following weekend.

With the full schedule not set to be announced until 9am this Thursday, many fans online have questioned the validity of the claims, with it being highly unlikely at present given there is no midweek clashes nor pauses for international tournaments too.

The Magpies of course began last season with a 4-2 home defeat to West Ham United, despite twice taking the lead in the first half through Callum Wilson and then Jacob Murphy.

United are of course at current tipped to finish higher than their 11th placed finish last season, with more summer signings expected through the doors at St James' Park. Sven Botman, Nathan Ake and Hugo Ekitike are just some of the names being linked so far.

Purely speculation at this point however, some fans online seem puzzled as to where the leak has come from. The Premier League has at present made no comment and continues with it pledge for the official fixtures to be released later this week.

Here is just how Newcastle and Howe's side opening weeks would look if the rumours are said to be confirmed as true however...

Newcastle United's opening 8 Premier League games:

v Liverpool (H) - Saturday 06 August

v Manchester United (A) - Saturday 13 August

v Crystal Palace (H) - Saturday 20 August

v Arsenal (A) - Saturday 27 August

v Fulham (H) - Saturday 03 September

v Leeds United (H) - Saturday 10 September

v Chelsea (A) - Saturday 17 September

v Aston Villa (H) - Saturday 24 September
