Premier League Fantasy football tips: Gameweek 2

The Premier League roared back into action last weekend and so to did the wildly popular Premier League Fantasy Football game.

Old reliables like Mo Salah showed why he was picked by 62.7% of players as he scored and assisted against Fulham in Liverpool's 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage.

While Erling Haaland showed the hype was real with his two goal demolition of West Ham United as Manchester City got their title defence off to the perfect start.

But gameweek 2 is here and by now, many will have already either messed up their team to a massive extent. But fear not, because we are here to give you tips and advice for gameweek 2 and maybe help you climb the leaderboard.

Get Haaland in

Many had their doubts about how Erling Haaland would settle in the Premier League after his sub-par debut against Liverpool in the Community Shield. Within 65 minutes, Haaland bagged a double and should have had a hat-trick against West Ham.

Make no mistake about it, Erling Haaland is a freak. He's a terminator that will score goals to spite himself this season. If you haven't got him in your fantasy team, this is your chance to redeem that mistake, otherwise you'll lose ground on your rivals.

City have newly promoted Bournemouth at home this week and play Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa in the coming weeks. The big Norwegian is bound to score a hatful of goals by then.

Jesus to get off the mark against Leicester

Gabriel Jesus made quite the impact on his Arsenal debut against Palace last week, with virtually everyone praising him for a near flawless performance at Selhurst Park.

The one thing missing from the Brazilian was a goal, but that could easily come against Leicester this weekend.

Brendan Rodgers teams have never been defensively sound, and this Leicester side is no different. Last weeks capitulation against Brentford at home is evidence of this.

Taking into account some of the clubs off-the-field issues, it could easily be a long season for The Foxes. Not many players have come into the squad this summer and Kasper Schmeichel's departure is a huge loss.

Added to that is the transfer speculation around James Maddison and Wesley Fofana, who both appear to be on their way out of the club. In this fantasy football tipster's eyes, all these ingredients add up to a vulnerable Leicester side, an Arsenal win and a Jesus goal or two.

Stay away from Manchester United

The season couldn't have begun much worse for Erik Ten Hag as United fell to a demoralising 2-1 home defeat to Graham Potter's Brighton.

The Seagulls dominated from start to finish and despite a five minute spell at the beginning of the game, United looked just as bad as they did last season.

Defensively they are still dreadful and David De Gea's ropey display last week suggests his form may not match that of last season. I'd stay away from United players until things settle down because the club seems to be in free-fall.

Lisandro Martinez endured a torrid time at the hands of Danny Welbeck on his debut last week. I'd bet on Ivan Toney terrorising the Argentine defender and maybe overpowering him for a goal.
