Only those within the relevant departments at Liverpool will know who is on their radar of potential transfer targets.
But two of them could well be in the spotlight when the Reds take on Wolves this weekend. One will be very well known among Kopites, the other is a relatively new name.
Adama Traore has seemingly been on Liverpool’s watchlist for around two years now, but it’s never got past anything more than mere gossip at this stage.
The Spain international has found himself in and out of the team under new manager Bruno Lage this term, but has recently been installed back in the starting eleven.

Recent reports, however, have claimed that Wolves would be willing to sell Traore when the transfer window opens in January.
Unsurprisingly, Liverpool’s name was mentioned.
What was interesting about the reports was that, apparently, Wolves have lowered their initial £50million asking price down to just £18m - a decrease of £32m.
Now let’s talk about the newest Wolves player who was linked with Liverpool, and that is Hwang Hee-chan.
It was in early November when the South Korea international, on loan from RB Leipzig, was first linked with a move to Liverpool.
Manchester City were also credited with an interest, but it’s Liverpool’s name once again being linked with a Wolves player that caught the eye.
In terms of comparing Traore and Hwang, both a very different players despite being in the team to do a similar job.
Traore is an out-and-out winger who relies on his pace to run in behind the defence and cause havoc.
Hwang is more of a recognised striker who likes to drift out wide occasionally and move the defence around to create further problems for the opposition, while not being short of a yard or two of pace, himself.
Liverpool could come up against both players when they travel to Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds have faced both players before in previous years, but not on the same team. Traore, of course, at Wolves, while Hwang has been on the receiving end of Liverpool defeats for Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg in the past.
If Liverpool are indeed interested in either one of Hwang or Traore, then Saturday provides the perfect opportunity to audition for a move to Anfield.
Of course, given Liverpool’s transfer process is so methodical, it’s unlikely that they will make the decision to sign a player based on an one-off performance against them. The exception to this rule was arguably Takumi Minamino who impressed for Salzburg in the Champions League in 2019.
Once again, only the relevant people will know whether or not Hwang or Traore are actual transfer targets for Liverpool.
If one, or both, of them are, then Liverpool will be paying extra attention to the performance of the opposition in the Premier League this weekend.
