Premier League considers VAR change for next season

  • Premier League clubs will be surveyed on whether to introduce VAR checks for corner kick awards from next season, following a new option from football's lawmaking body.

  • Uefa’s referees chief, Roberto Rosetti, expressed concerns that VAR is drifting from its original purpose of correcting “clear and obvious” errors, becoming overly “microscopic”, and stressed the need for a single technical interpretation across Europe.
